Devil's Backbone - The Civil Wars
I’ve fallen in love with a man on the run
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I’m begging you please
Don’t take that sinner from me
Oh don’t take that sinner from me
I’ve fallen for someone who’s nothing like you
He’s raised on the edge of the devil’s backbone
Oh I just wanna take him home
Oh I just wanna take him home
Ooooooooooo
A hangman’s knot, and three mouths to feed
There wasn’t a wrong or a right he could choose
He did what he had to do
Oh he did what he had to do
Ooooooooooo
I’ll shoulder the load, and I’ll swallow the shame
Give me the burden, give me the blame
How many, how many Hail Marys is it gonna take?
He’s good and he’s bad and he’s all that I’ve got
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I’m begging you please
Don’t take that sinner from me
Oh don’t take that sinner from me

Writings on the Wall

Children will listen... (comes with slight Spoilers)
Into the woods to grandmother's house)
Into the woods to sell the cow)
Into the woods to lift the spell)
Into the woods to go to the festival)
- Cinderella besucht das Grab ihrer Mutter (Into the woods to visit mother)
Satori has a headache

Glory - John Legend
_______________________________
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Formed against, yes glory is destined
Every day women and men become legends
Sins that go against our skin become blessings
The movement is a rhythm to us
Freedom is like religion to us
Justice is juxtapositionin' us
Justice for all just ain't specific enough
One son died, his spirit is revisitin' us
Truant livin' livin' in us, resistance is us
That's why Rosa sat on the bus
That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up
When it go down we woman and man up
They say, "Stay down", and we stand up
Shots, we on the ground, the camera panned up
King pointed to the mountain top and we ran up
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
And we'll fight on to the finish, then when it's all done
We'll cry glory, oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
We'll cry glory, oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Even Jesus got his crown in front of a crowd
They marched with the torch, we gon' run with it now
Never look back, we done gone hundreds of miles
From dark roads he rose, to become a hero
Facin' the league of justice, his power was the people
Enemy is lethal, a king became regal
Saw the face of Jim Crow under a bald eagle
The biggest weapon is to stay peaceful
We sing, our music is the cuts that we bleed through
Somewhere in the dream we had an epiphany
Now we right the wrongs in history
No one can win the war individually
It takes the wisdom of the elders and young people's energy
Welcome to the story we call victory
The comin' of the Lord, my eyes have seen the glory
It will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)
Oh glory (Glory, glory)
Hey (Glory, glory)
We'll cry glory (Glory, glory)
Oh (Glory, glory)

Same Shit/Complicated by Kimya Dawson
You were starched and pressed, they were all disheveled
They were holding hands, They were ragamuffins and they said
"I know we're not fancy but we're on the same level
We've got plans, big plans! We're gonna change the world
All you care about is dollars, that doesn't make sense
All you do is hit snooze, watch the news, buy shoes, drink booze
Make money feel spent and
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day after day after day."
"Hey little hippie, let your freak flag fly
Why don't you go smoke a bowl in your best tie-dye?
Get a tattoo of a dancing bear holding a peace sign
You can talk the talk but when it comes to real change
Are you and all your little friends exactly the same?
You sit around in potlucks, pointing fingers, placing blame
Drinking kombucha and eating tempeh and
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day, it's the same shit
Day after day after day after day after day."
And you think that makes them assholes, maybe you're an asshole too
Do we argue with each other until we both turn blue or
Find similarities in what we like and what we do?
Yeah, just because someone does not look like me
Doesn't mean they are a clone or a sheep
Maybe they like their job and they're living their dream
And they love their friends and their family
Yeah, some people thrive between nine and five
And feel like they're choking if their neck's not tied
And some people feel as if they're gonna die if
Their seams aren't straight and their shoes not tied
Some people like business, some people like numbers
Some people grow organic heirloom cucumbers
And only feel free with their hands in the dirt
In a pair of old jeans and their favorite t-shirt
Some people feel enslaved when they have a boss
Some people without one feel totally lost
We all have different tastes, different strengths, different minds
So it doesn't make sense to generalize
And it doesn't make sense to judge with our eyes
We need more compassion, we need to be kind
If you open your heart, you might like what you find
Cause there are some nice bus drivers, and there's some mean bus drivers
And there's some nice cops in Madison, Wisconsin
And there's some nice teachers, and there's some mean teachers
Just because you got a mean teacher doesn't mean all teachers suck
And no one is nice all the time, no one is mean all the time
Think about what someone's going through that's making them be mean to you
Or maybe they got in a fight with someone that they really liked
Or maybe they are really shy, don't know how to socialize
May just want to run and hide, not saying that it's justified
But if we learn to empathize, the resentments will vaporize
Situations metamorphize before our very eyes
Then the need to stereotype will become outdated
When we realize that everyone is really complicated
We are all so complicated
We are all so complicated
I am also complicated
I am also complicated
It's been over a decade since the last time I got drunk
I drive a mini-van, and I've got junk in the trunk
I think Danny DeVito is a total hunk
I like revisiting the shit my therapist helps me remember
Being friends with someone for a long time, still not knowing their gender
I fight for equal rights, and I fight for inner peace
And I pray to the dead for the gratitude I need
I've got chickens in my backyard and a little garden plot
I really hate commercials but I got a slap-chop
Cause I'm a sucker for a remix, let me tell you what
By the time that I am finished, you are gonna love these nuts
I'm a little bit pop culture, a lot bit DIY
I don't know the definition of TMI
I write poems about my period, post pictures of my log
If you don't like body functions, you shouldn't read my blog
My husband's a musician from the mountains in France
He wrote me a song, we did interpretive dance
Then he knocked me up, now we have the coolest kid
Yeah, hooking up with him's the smartest thing I ever did
And I feel like I can fly when I'm on roller skates
I get a little high when I eat dried dates
I feel like I'm unloading when I'm loading up the car
I feel like I'm exploding when I'm holding my guitar
I don't understand what numbers have to do with success
Or what sales have to do with happiness
Unless they're the kind of sails that will carry me to sea
Where my grandma and grandpa are waiting for me
I never thought I'd make it to 25, now I'm 37 and I'm glad that I'm alive
If I ever need a tour bus, I'm still gonna drive
Cause I looking out the windshield as the world goes by
Looking out the windshield as the world goes by
Yeah, looking out the windshield as the world goes by
Now I'm 37 and I'm glad that I'm alive
And I like looking out the windshield as the world goes by

The Hanging Tree
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run,
So we'd both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree

12 points go to Austria

The Bird and the Worm - The Used
His backpack is all that he knows
Shot down by strangers whose glances can cripple
The heart and devour the soul
While holding his breath after death
Terrified of what's inside to save his life
He crawls like a worm from a bird
Crawls like a worm from a bird
Must have been out of his mind
Midday delusions of pushing this out of his head
Maybe out of his mind
While holding his breath after death
Terrified of what's inside to save his life
He crawls like a worm
(All alone)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(All alone)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(All alone)
Crawls like a worm
Crawls like a worm from a bird
If he can't relieve it it grows
And so it goes
He crawls like a worm
Crawls like a worm from a bird
He crawls like a worm
He crawls like a worm
Crawls like a
Must have been out of his mind
While holding his breath after death
Terrified at what's inside to save his life
He crawls like a worm from a bird
He's holding his breath after death
(Holding his breath after death)
Terrified to save his life
He crawls like a worm
(Crawls like a worm)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(Crawls like a worm)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(All alone)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(All alone)
Crawls like a worm
(Worm!)
Crawls like a worm
(Worm!)
Crawls like a worm from a bird
(All alone)
(All alone)
(All alone)

Hard Out Here - Lily Allen (contains swearing so be warned...)
I suppose I should tell you what this bitch is thinking
You'll find me in the studio and not in the kitchen
I won't be bragging 'bout my cars or talking 'bout my chains
Don't need to shake my ass for you 'cause I've got a brain
If I told you 'bout my sex life, you'd call me a slut
When boys be talking about their bitches, no one's making a fuss
There's a glass ceiling to break, uh-huh, there's money to make
And now it's time to speed it up 'cause I can't move at this pace
[Bridge]
Sometimes it's hard to find the words to say
I'll go ahead and say them anyway
Forget your balls and grow a pair of tits
[Chorus]
It's hard, it's hard, it's hard out here for a bitch
It's hard, for a bitch (for a bitch)
For a bitch, it's hard
It's hard out here for a bitch
It's hard, for a bitch (for a bitch)
For a bitch, it's hard
It's hard out here
You're not a size six, and you're not good looking
Well, you better be rich, or be real good at cooking
You should probably lose some weight
'Cause we can't see your bones
You should probably fix your face or you'll end up on your own
Don't you want to have somebody who objectifies you?
Have you thought about your butt? Who's gonna tear it in two?
We've never had it so good, uh-huh, we're out of the woods
And if you can't detect the sarcasm, you've misunderstood
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
A bitch, a bitch, a bitch, bitch, bitch [x4]
Inequality promises that it's here to stay
Always trust the injustice 'cause it's not going away
Inequality promises that it's here to stay
Always trust the injustice 'cause it's not going away
[Bridge]
[Chorus x2]

Dirty Paws - Of Monsters And Men
My head is an animal
And once there was an animal
It had a son that mowed the lawn
The son was an okay guy
They had a pet dragonfly
But it came back with a story to say
Her dirty paws and furry coat
The forest of talking trees
They used to sing about the birds and the bees
And for a while things were cold
Was colored black by those killing machines
Took down the queen bee and her men
And that's how the story goes

Toy Boy - Mika (a wonderful childhood hymn)
I’m a wind-up toy in an up down world
If you leave me all alone, I’ll make a mess for sure
I’ve a heart of gold in the smallest size
Leave me in the dark, you’ll never hear me cry
More than an illustration
Points of articulation
Come to life on a brass spring
Such a wonderful plaything
It’s a cruel cross that I have to bear
If you come a little closer I’m going to pull your hair
More than just a toy in a patched blue suit
Hold me in your arms I’m just a boy like you
But your mama thought there was somethin’ wrong
Didn’t want you sleeping with a boy too long
It’s a serious thing in a grown-up world
Maybe you’d be better with a Barbie girl
You knew that I adored-ya
But you left me in Georgia
Toys are not sentimental
How could I be for rental?
She’s the meanest hag that has ever been
Pulled out my insides with an old safety pin
I’m the sorest sight, now I feel like trash
Clothes are made of rags and they don’t even match
So she dressed me up as the man she loved
Threw me in a box when she had had enough
Now the light of day I no longer see
She stuck her voodoo pins where my eyes used to be
Accidentally tragic
Victim of her black magic
Had a boy once who loved me
Now he's so afraid of me
On a long lost day when you're gray and dull
You'll be there remembering your old toy boy
When your oldest son wonderin' what to be
Tell him the story of a boy like me

Toll.

Gute Entscheidung.
